Ingredients

  • 1lb boneless chicken thighs

  • ¾ cup corn starch to coat

  • Marinade:
  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp pepper

  • 2 cloves grated garlic or 1sp garlic powder

  • 1 egg

  • Sauce:
  • 2tbsp ketchup

  • 1tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 ½ tbsp. honey

  • 2 tbsp. sugar

  • 2tsp vinegar

  • 5tsp water

  • 2tsp sesame oil

  • 2tsp sesame seeds

  • Corn starch slurry (1stp corn starch + 4tbsp water)

Directions

  • Cut chicken thighs in bite sized pieces and clean it with lime\vinegar and water
  • Add chicken marinade, mix everything together then leave it for 30mins
  • Add corn starch and coat each piece of chicken
  • In a pot over medium heat, add pieces of chicken one at a time
  • Allow pieces to fry for 5mins or until they are golden brown then remove from the oil and allow the excess oil to drain while you work on the sauce
  • Add ingredients for the sauce in a clean pot over low heat (except sesame seeds, oil, and corn-starch slurry)
  • Once sugar particles have dissolved and the mixture has come to a boil, add corn starch slurry while mixing
  • Add chicken pieces as soon as this gets thickened
  • Move chicken around in the sauce to get each piece nicely coated
  • Add sesame oil and seeds then mix again, serve, and enjoy
