Fried bakes are perfect for breakfast. They can be stuffed with your favorite fillings. Soft on the inside and a little crispy on the outside

2 cups all purpose flour
1tbsp baking powder
2 tsp granulated sugar
¼ tsp salt
1tbsp unsalted butter (optional)
½ cup milk
½ tsp oil for kneading dough
2 cups oil for frying
Directions
- In a bowl, combine all the dry ingredients
- Add the butter
- Add the milk or water to the mixture a little at a time to form a soft dough
- Add oil to the dough and knead again
- Cover the dough with a damped paper towel and let it rest for 15 minutes
- Separate the dough in 7 pieces
- Gently flour a surface and a rolling pin then roll the pieces out into flat circles about 1/2cm thick
- Fry these over medium heat until lightly golden
- Remove and drain
- Cut open your fry bakes and add your favorite fillings

- Use 2 tsp instant yeast plus (1 ½ tsp baking powder) when using the two together
- Use 1tbsp baking powder when using baking powder only
- Use 2 ½ tsp yeast when using yeast only
